Week 5 - Jock Casey O’Farrell Wins - 7/23/08
Another new batch of contestants this week, including “one word model” Dana Jamison, “nerd gamer” Jeremy Olson, “crunch time” Jacob Mann, and “competitive eater” Shawn Kirby.
This week, America was given more of what it wanted, and “all-ball” qualifier. Dirty balls, big balls, and the ball swing were all there to give the contestants a hard time. The big balls especially led to some brutal spills! Most of the contestants struggled throughout the obstacle course, but there were a few surprises along the way. Jeremy Olson deftly moving accross the big balls was probably the biggest shock.
Jeremy may also have had the funniest moment of the episode. In trying to make his way accross the barrel roll to make it to the final round, Jeremy jumped to the final platform but only made it half way. Not possessing the upper body strength (remember he’s a nerd) to pull himself up, Jeremy clung to the platform and was kicking his little heart out. Meanwhile, the jock was making his way back into the race. Every shot of poor Jeremy struggling to pull himself up while the jock gained on him was priceless.
Both Jeremy and the jock Casey O’Farrell made it the finals, along with “one-word model” Dana Jamison and “chinese acrobat” David Matz.
Ultimately, the jock had his way - Casey O’Farrell managed to recover from a late fall and still squeak out the best time on the Wipeout Zone, narrowly edging out the surprising Dana Jamison.
