The Job (Season Finale) - 5/17/07
Fun little twist at the very end of The Office season finale! They even set it up a little during the episode, so it wasn’t completely random. And then there’s Jim and Pam…
So Jim drove all the way back from New York to ask Pam to dinner. But there are a hundred things left unclear. Where’s Karen? Did they break up? Did Jim just run out of his interview and drive up to Scranton? Knowing how The Office works, we probably will never really see that drama unfold. They’ll gloss over whatever happened between Jim and Karen - like her having to move out and potentially her already having found another job - and focus more on how happy Jim and Pam are. Then drama will be reintroduced into their relationship mid-season. But the scene of Jim walking in on Pam’s “interview” to ask her out - and the look on her face afterwards - was absolutely priceless!
Then there is Michael getting back together with an incredibly enhanced Jan. I think there are tons of guys out there that were nodding “yeah, ok…I probably would have done that to”. Although, most guys out there wouldn’t have offered to move in together in the same day…but that’s what sets Michael apart from the rest of us.
Also - Ryan is now Michael’s boss. That should play EXTREMELY interesting next season…which I’m already looking forward to!

We did not see Jim do any kissing in the season finale…but maybe we’ll finally see another kiss between him and Pam next season!

I’m giving Jan credit for quitting Dunder-Mifflin…it’s sort of a toss up whether she officially quit or was fired.
Will Jim and Karen break up by the end of the episode (they must have clearly broken up)?
We do not actually see Jim and Karen break up in the episode.
Will Michael get back together with Jan at any point in the next episode?
That is a big YES. Actually, two big yes’s!
