Big Brother 9: The Next Person NOT Safe Is…

It came as no real surprise that the houseguests were separated as couples and now play the game as individuals.  If there is one thing about Big Brother it is normally that they cannot keep a secret for very long (Eric from BB8 is one exception).  As soon as that siren was announced, even though they said it could happen at anytime over the next few weeks - it was almost a given it was to happen within the next live episode.

The past week has been a fairly interesting one.  Now playing as individuals - Ryan who was to be evicted last week won the Head of Household and put up Chelsia and Sharon for eviction.  He seemed to be playing the gender game calling on the two girls to have an “epic battle of the females” for Power of Veto.  The interesting thing is both girls were nominated as picks by both of their former partners.  Joshuah suggested Sharon to Ryan and James suggested Chelsia.

The “Color of Veto” was played where besides winning the Power of Veto, players got to win prizes.  This normally brings out ones true colors (hence the name) as some forget about winning the game and instead take prize money.  Shelia the first to lose Round 1 won the Power of Veto.  Sharon who lost Round 2 won a motorcycles but per the rules got to take the prize away from anyone else who has won one and took Shelia’s Power of Veto giving the motorcycle to Shelia.  She was not too happy with now having a motorcycle.  Joshua lost Round 3 and kept his prize, a letter from home.  Adam lost Round 4 and won $10,000 and in a heartfelt moment (tear) he gave the money to Shelia and now took the motorcycle.  He gave the money to her since she needs it more than he does.  This made Shelia very sorry for the way she treated Adam when they first got into the house as a couple.  Chelsia lost Round 5 and traded her prize a slop pass for Sharon’s Power of Veto.  Ryan wins the game and his prize is Jen’s old red unitard from Big Brother 8.  If he keeps the red unitard he must wear it for one week.  Well, this would have been interesting but there is no way that a guy was going to choose to wear a red unitard for a whole week over $10,000.  So, much to Shelia’s dismay, Ryan takes her $10,000 forcing Shelia to wear the red unitard for a whole week.  Ouch!  This means Chelsia has the Power of Veto.

Being one of the nominees Chelisa took herself off the block forcing Ryan to put up a replacement.  The whole house thought they had convinced Ryan to put up Mattie to backdoor him out of the house - and it seemed Ryan was going to do so, but in true expected the unexpected fashion - he puts up James.  As he said “It’s on!”  It was nice to see something unexpected happen!

However, I am getting a little tired of Mattie, who went all “Training Day” on Joshuah about trying to get him out of the house.  Sure he is playing the psychological game trying to wear down Joshuah but his actions are bordering on the “I should be allowed to win because I’m good at the game” antics that we are likely to hear should he make it to the final two.

So tonight, it will be either James or Sharon evicted from the house.  The house seems to have switched and is now targeting James - which is too bad.  I like him.  But also tonight America has a vote to put someone previously evicted back into the house.  Who did America vote for - find out tonight.  And get your picks in quickly.
