We have our new series subplot: Warrick shows up late to the crime scene, arguing with his ex-wife on the phone and is shown popping some prescription pills before getting chewed out by Grissom for being MIA.
As for the crime scene, it appears that one of the remaining Vegas mob bosses had a hit taken out on a previous colleague’s son. While working on the case, Nick witnesses Warrick taking the pills, resulting in a confrontation that seems to convince Warrick to lay off the meds. Warrick soon becomes too emotionally involved in the case due to the withdrawl, arguing with the Under Sheriff and going against Grissom’s wishes, eventually being told to take the rest of the night off. This leads Warrick to the strip club owned by the mobster where he attempts to get the boss to flinch bout the case. Instead, after Warrick, the hunk that he is, sleeps with one of the strippers in some withdrawl-induced haze in her apartment. When he goes back to the club to pick up his car, CSI is already on the scene where the stripper had is laying with her throat cut.
