    Anyone feel it a bit odd that he didn't build a device that was a dud? He was still programming the unit when the terrorists knew the apartment was being surrounded and this distraction should have let him build a dud but instead he built a workable device.

    I doubt he is in league with the terrorists (the whole power drill to the shoulder blade would seem to be taking things a bit too far if he was) - but why not make a dud?

    I agree. That was strange - but the show had to come up with something that would maintain that plotline. The one thing that they have working for them (the writers) is that we (the general viewing audience) has no idea whether or not he could have built a dud...Apologies to those of you who know how to program a device that can detonate nuclear bombs.
