This week, the true final auditions before Vegas, consisted of contestants who had submitted videos of their talents via MySpace - and it started off with some of the worst we’ve seen this season. These lowlights - or highlights if you a masochist - included a whistling mother and daughter duo, a “rock and roll magician” Sharon thought belonged in The Hobbit, “Diva Boy” who’s new age dance act was yet another attempt at being this season’s Leonard the Magnificent - who was so annoying, no one can compare in my book. As for the highlights, there was Holly Stone the 40-something aspiring singer who had given her daughter up for adoption when she was 18 but recently found her on MySpace and brought her along, and a soldier and his guitar who seemed to tug at the audience’s heartstrings - personally wasn’t that impressed with his singing, but the Hoff got quite excited.
On to the Vegas auditions on Tuesday, August 6th on NBC - and don’t forget to get your bets in for that episode before it airs.
