Season 7 - The Final 6 Perform Andrew Lloyd Webber - 4/22/08
I had to start and stop this article three times before I could finish it. Please lower your expectations.
The final six sang Broadway last night, to mixed results. Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber was on hand to coach the contestants and make goofy jokes. This was probably my least favorite set of performances since the countdown from the final 24 started. I just wasn’t left with anything overly positive to say.
Here’s a quick look at how each of the contestants did:
Syesha Mercado: It legitimately was her best performance so far, but something about this girl just annoys me now. That being said, she’s probably the strongest girl left in the competition at this point, so it wouldn’t surprise me if she sneaks into the final 3.
Jason Castro: My girlfriend voted for Jason last night - and not because he had a good performance. Jason’s personality is what is keeping him around. He’ll be safe this week because of
Brooke White: What’s the cure for an active mouth? A little dose of humility. Brooke didn’t have much to say after her stutter step performance last night. Unless there’s a huge outpouring of sympathy votes, I think Brooke’s road has come to an end.
David Archulleta: Is it me, or has he picked more girl songs then boy songs? What’s worse, he actually seems to pull them off…
Carly Smithson: She was alright. I’m kind of tired of this girl. I actually don’t like any of the girls left in the competition to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, they all seem nice and whatever. But they’re just sooooooo boring when it comes down to it.
David Cook: Simon was right - David made the most out of a song that didn’t fit him. He’s the guy to beat in this competition.
