Final 16 Perform - 3/5/08
The boys are definitely outperforming the girls so far - this week has show it yet again, and Simon basically said it at the end of last night’s episode. If I had to guess, here’s who I think is going home tonight…
For the guys:
Luke Menard: He’s just not bringing anything exciting. Terrible song choice the other night, and there’s just not much personality here. Nice guy though.
Chikizie: The competition among the boys is strong, so it becomes a tough choice. I think it was a bad time for Chikizie to have a not so great night.
Honorable Mention: Danny Noriega is on thin ice too - I’d like to see him go home, but I think his fan base is slightly stronger than the above two.
For the girls:
Amanda Overmeyer: I don’t care how good her performance was last night - it was the right song for her, but still. She really has a lousy personality, and it showed right after her performance, as well as shots of her in the red room. And besides - is she really American Idol worthy? I say no.
Kady Malloy: It pains me to say this, but I think it’s her time to go too. There is just something not translating to the stage, maybe it’s her song choice. I think she could be REALLY, REALLY good, but someone has to go.
Honorable Mention: I’ve got two here. When you lineup these girls (even with the above two), who’s NOT standing out? Unfortunately one of them is Kristy Lee Cook. She cute, she sings well, but she’s just not winning American Idol. Same goes for Ramiele…she stands out a little bit more then Kristy, but I can’t even remember what she sang last night.
Some other quick comments:
- Jason Castro is hands down one of my favorites in the competition, and I think he’s headed for a least a top 5 finish. He’s the dark horse of the guys.
- I can’t believe Brooke is 24, and I can’t believe she’s doing as well as she is. Really enjoying her so far.
- No really, Amanda NEEDS TO GO. Please.
- Syesha is one of those girls that thinks she’s cute. It may be true, but it’s still annoying with all the little poses and what not.
